Alvarado is where our shop sits, on County Road 514, so most of what we know about building fences comes from this ground. Here is what it takes for a fence in Alvarado to stay straight, and what to ask any contractor before they dig.
A long fence run is a big commitment — a lot of pickets and a lot of posts. On this Grace Construction project we built the run on black steel posts and finished it in a deep stain for strength and consistency.
A fence and gate built at the same time, by the same crew, in the same stain, look like they belong together. That consistency is one of the easiest ways to make a property look custom.
Newer subdivisions put homes close together, and the space between them fills with AC units, bins and hoses. On this project a stained cedar privacy fence turned those spaces into tidy, private yards.
Many North Texas homes come with a small covered patio. On this project the new deck wraps around and beyond it, turning a narrow slab into a real outdoor living area.
A railed deck is safe. A railed deck with no way out is annoying. On this project we built a matching gate into the railing, right where it meets the step.
Once their new composite deck was finished, this family added one more thing: black metal railing. It turns the deck into a safe, enclosed space for kids and pets.
Steps are the most-used part of any deck. On this project we built wide box steps in matching composite, so getting on and off the deck is easy and safe.
Two decks can use the same boards and look completely different. The difference is in the edges. On this composite deck, a picture-frame border and full fascia give it a crisp, built-in finish.
Before this project, stepping out the back door meant a small slab and then dirt. A low, ground-level deck changed how this family uses their backyard.
