Your local fence and outdoor living contractor in Grandview

Grandview is farm and ranch country, fifteen minutes south of our Alvarado shop, and the fencing needs reflect that. Long boundary runs, cross-fencing to rotate pasture, cattle guards at the entrance, and gates wide and strong enough for equipment.

Working fence is a different discipline from residential. It has to hold stock, absorb a tree limb in a spring storm, and stay tight across uneven ground for decades with minimal attention. That comes down almost entirely to how the corners and brace assemblies are built.

Local Knowledge

What building in Grandview actually involves

Steel pipe and metal frame ranch fence under construction on Texas acreage

Corners and braces built first

On a long fence, the corners carry everything. If the corner and H-brace assemblies are undersized or set shallow, the whole run goes slack within a couple of seasons no matter how well the line posts were driven.

We drill and concrete corner and brace assemblies before any line fence goes up, weld rather than clamp our pipe connections, and size the whole structure to the stock it has to hold and the terrain it crosses.

  • Drilled and concreted corner assemblies
  • Welded, not clamped, pipe connections
  • Line spacing matched to terrain
  • Built for the stock you actually run

Ranch entries, cattle guards and gates

The entry is the part of a ranch everyone sees. We weld entry arches, set cattle guards on poured footings sized for loaded equipment, and hang gates on posts heavy enough to carry them without sagging by the second summer.

Custom ironwork — ranch brands, family names, cut silhouettes and Texas stars — is fabricated in our own shop in Alvarado rather than ordered from a catalogue.

  • Welded entry arches and headers
  • Cattle guards on poured footings
  • Heavy gates on properly sized posts
  • Custom brands and ironwork fabricated in-house

The house at the centre of the place

Working fence out at the line and the area right around the house are two different jobs, and they usually get handled by two different companies. We do both — pipe on the perimeter, cedar privacy around the yard, a drive gate between them, and a deck or pavilion where the family actually spends its evenings.

One contract, one crew, one schedule, and a stain colour that matches from the gate to the pergola.

  • Perimeter and homestead in one contract
  • Cedar yard fence and drive gates
  • Decks, pergolas and patio covers
  • Matched stain across the whole property

Questions

Grandview homeowners ask us

Do you build fence on large acreage around Grandview?

Yes, regularly. Boundary fence, cross-fencing, pipe and continuous panel, cattle guards and entry gates on properties from a few acres to several hundred. Tell us the acreage and rough perimeter and we can give you a working budget before we come out.

What is the difference between pipe fence and continuous panel?

Pipe fence is welded together on site from individual pipe — the strongest and most custom option, and the most expensive. Continuous panel is pre-fabricated multi-rail sections joined end to end — quicker to install and easy to reconfigure. Many properties use pipe on the frontage and pens and panel down the boundary lines.

Do you install cattle guards?

Yes, set on poured footings sized for the equipment that will actually cross them, with wing walls and approach detailing so the guard does not silt up or settle out of level.

Can you do custom ironwork for a ranch entry?

We fabricate ranch brands, family names, cut silhouettes, Texas stars and scrollwork in our own shop in Alvarado, then powder coat and install them. Bring us a sketch or a photo and we will work from it.
